Mountain Bike Amputee is an informal organization of amputee mountain biking and cycling enthusiasts that was created by Victor Walther.This site is intended to encourage and inform both amputees and the general public in regards to prosthetic and mountain bike innovations and modifications as well as mountain biking and cycling skills and technique for amputee, injured, and disabled mountain bikers and cyclists.MTB-AMPUTEE includes pictures and information on a variety of amputee mountain bikers and cyclists, encouraging ALL amputee cyclists to participate regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, ability, or disability.The information and services provided by MTB-Amputee are free of charge. There are no membership fees or special requirements to participate, just a willingness to encourage, inspire, and share information with others.Additionally, because most prosthetic modifications and devices used in mountain biking and cycling can be adapted and applied towards many uses, MTB-Amputee has included special pages dedicated to amputee motorcyclist, all terrain vehicle, and snowmobile enthusiasts.Also, due to a tremendous response from non-amputee cyclists suffering from various disabilities or recovering from injury, MTB-Amputee has included a special page titled Suggestions From The Net.If you or anyone you know could benefit from, or would like to participate on this website, email your enquiries or pictures and information to: mtb-amputee@mtb-amputee.comFinally, MTB-Amputee warns all potential first time amputee mountain bikers, the moment you get on a bike, whether it be road or mountain, you are no longer an amputee, you are a CYCLIST!RIDE ON!
